Alert Technology is pleased to announce our selection as one of six companies chosen to pitch at Envestors, Equity360 and Plerith’s co-hosted Investment Presentation Lunch on Thursday, 6th February at Markel International in the famous Walkie Talkie Building, 20 Fenchurch St, London from 11:30 – 14:30.

Overview of Alert Technology

Alert Technology have developed ALERT – the world’s first and only real-time airborne asbestos warning device. This award-winning, patented technology is set to transform asbestos safety around the world and represents a new generation of asbestos monitoring.

Banned in 50% of countries worldwide, asbestos is the world’s biggest occupational killer. Asbestos causes 1 in 3 occupational cancers, 255,000 deaths annually and $3.9bn in healthcare costs. 1.5 million of the UK’s vital public buildings contain high levels of asbestos including 9 in 10 NHS Trusts and 80%+ of UK schools. A major issue for the construction, demolition and maintenance industries, the UK alone spends £240m per year on asbestos testing, but the current process has multiple drawbacks in terms of accuracy and time, leading to increased costs and the risk of fines and legal action (M&S £1m fine. Johnson & Johnson $400m compensation).

Launched in September following extensive research, the Alert 1000 allows instant detection of airborne asbestos and is forecast to reach over £2m sales this year, with over 1,400 inbound enquiries. Initially targeting the testing market, the company is raising £1.5m (with £700k+ already pledged) to meet demand and develop future products that will allow continuous, automated monitoring across the millions of sites worldwide where asbestos is a known risk.
