ALERT PRO1000 represented at Australian Asbestos Safety and Management Conference

Alert Technology’s Master Distributor for Australia, Active Environmental Solutions (AES) will be attending the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency (ASEA) and Blue Mountains City Council (BMCC) 2022 Asbestos Safety and Management Conference, to be held from 19–20 May at the Fairmont Resort in the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains.

AES’s NSW representative, Peter Richards, will be attending the conference and exhibiting alongside other recipients of the BRII (Business Research and Innovation Initiative). Alert Technology Ltd and AES were awarded a grant from the BRII to produce a feasibility study to investigate technology for real-time and accurate asbestos testing. Trials have already begun of the Alert PRO 1000 device, and the unit will be available for demonstration on our exhibition stand at the conference.

The Alert Pro 1000 can identify when airborne asbestos is present and provides a real-time alert if asbestos-containing materials are disturbed and their toxic fibres released into the air. This vital early warning enables an immediate and proactive safety response helping to prevent the risk of prolonged exposure.

Peter Richards, AES’ Regional Sales Manager for NSW said, “We’re really looking forward to attending the asbestos safety conference as this gives us a great platform to hold discussions about the ability of the Alert PRO 1000 and understand end-users views of real-time asbestos alerts.

“I will be delivering a presentation on the device and its technology so if you’re in attendance come and have a listen. I’ll also have the Alert PRO 1000 on our exhibition stand so if you want to see the unit and get a closer look please come and see me at our stand with BRII.”

The important national event, with a special focus on front-line asbestos safety management, will comprise of a 2-day conference including a series of plenary sessions, workshops and networking activities, as well as optional pre-conference activities held on 18 May. The conference will be a hybrid event, offering delegates the opportunity to either attend in-person or live stream the event.

Every year, an estimated 4,000 Australians die from asbestos-related diseases. This number is four times the annual road toll. By acting together there is more chance to stop further tragic deaths by preventing exposure to asbestos fibres through better management of asbestos in both our built and natural environments.

If you would like to book your place at the conference, you can do so here, or to find out more about the Alert PRO 1000 please visit AES’S product page.
